Although the weather in Malta is quite stable when compared to that of other countries, we would be lying if we portrayed Malta as an all year round sunny destination. After all, every prime vacation spot has its spell of bad weather. Malta weather in October can be tricky. On official weather statistics it is usually shown as the month that has the largest amount of rainfall. From what we’ve observed in recent years, it seems that October usually has a few days of heavy rainfall and storms, then it goes back to being sunny again as if it was the middle of summer again. Go figure! So the secret lies into avoiding the few rainy days :) Unfortunately, we cannot help you with that.
Having said all that, it is safe to say that as regards to warmth, Malta weather in October is usually still quite hot, so if you’re visiting the islands in October do not pack any heavy clothing. Summer clothes would usually do, with perhaps some light long sleeved tops for early mornings and evenings. October is also much more comfortable if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing, because you won’t have to endure the scorching summer heat. In fact, when it’s a sunny day you can still see people on the beach and it’s still usually warm to swim. In some beaches, if you’re lucky enough … there’s a good chance that you will have all the beach to yourself!
