Gozo Island Resorts: Xlendi

There are only two seaside resorts on Gozo island.

Xlendi is the second largest one. The main one being Marsalforn.

The magnificent blue green water in Xlendi bay provide just the perfect setting for that perfect postcard moment in Gozo.

Xlendi Bay, the lovely sea inlet continues to fascinate both artists and photographers to this day.

Once just a fishing village which was popular with a few Maltese people as a summer resort, Xlendi is today one of the most popular spots on Gozo island for day-trippers.

Surprisingly though, Xlendi has not lost its traditional charm. Xlendi Bay is still simply a sheltered gorge with a pleasant waterfront lined with cafes and restaurants.

For best views of Xlendi Bay, just climb the stairs up the cliffs that are located at the right. The best bathing can be found off the rocks along the bay. The deep blue green clear water is simply stunning. There’s also ample space for sunbathing on the flat rocks.

A watchtower built in 1650 still commands the bay’s entrance and provides some fantastic sea views.
